How to achieve this makeup look

Happy Monday Everyone,

I'm talking all about makeup today because I just want to get a little vain.  In this day and age, makeup is such a big deal.  Everyone and their Momma is n MUA on Instagram and with the help of YouTube everyone is an expert. I honestly learned by trial and error and getting my makeup done by experts. Whenever I went to MAC and had my makeup done, I paid close attention to the products and how it was applied.  I use to swear by MAC products and bought all things MAC but the way my bank account is set up *whew*. There are so many products out there that are just as good, if not better than these mainstream makeup brands. Some of these beauty gurus have achieved some amazing looks with drugstore products and I honestly think its all about how you apply it.  Here are the top three things that must be done in order for me to have a clean beat face.

1) A primer. Now, depending on the kind of skin you have, you have to do your research and get the best primer for you. I literally went through about 5-10 different products before finding my very own. I have dry skin so if I use a primer thats meant for oily skin, it'll dry my skin and make my makeup look ashy or pale.

2) Brushes/sponges. How you apply your makeup is very important, so you have to make sure that your brushes and sponges are clean and ready to go. As far as the brushes go, I have a range from cheap to expensive and my favorite was the Kabuki brush I got for $7.99 at Ulta. The sponges however are a different story. You should definitely get the expensive ones because they apply makeup smoothly. The cheap ones are hard and feel more like a foam. Absolutely terrible!

3)Setting spray. This brings your makeup out to the forefront. It makes it pop and clean. It's definitely a must at the end of every makeup application. However, every setting spray does not set your face the same so you also have to find what works for you.  Personally, I don't care for the MAC one but so many people swear by it. For me, it depends on the type of look I'm going for.

Again, what someone else wears might not work for you so practice, return if it doesn't work, try something else, then practice some more.

So this is what I've noticed about my makeup. If I don't apply my primer or a setting spray, my makeup is terrible and not clean whatsoever. If I don't clean my brushes then my makeup looks off.  Not everyone will agree with these pointers, which is why you have to do your own trial and error and find out what works for you.

Talk soon, thanks for stopping by as always.
